A Graveside Funeral service for Barney Myles Williams, 88, of Lexington, SC will be held two o’clock p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024 at The Williams Family Cemetery, Springfield, SC with Stan Sharpe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery on Friday. Barney passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Barney’s great niece, Terrie Walley, Lexington County EMS, the staff of Lexington Medical Center and Pruitt Health for their love, care and concern shown to Mr. Barney.
Born in Springfield, SC, he was a son of the late Wade Hampton Williams and Lessie Cooper Williams. He was Valedictorian of his Senior Class of Springfield High School and a 1974 Honor Graduate from USC. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Maintenance Supervisor after many years of service. He was an avid quail hunter who loved his birddogs and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Carolyn Rose Faulling Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Heather Williams of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Preston Williams, Maddox Williams, Haiden Brock, and Tanner Brock, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Sutcliff, Estelle Pender, Lucille Clark, Patricia Garrick and Lurline Baxley; brothers, Sam Williams, Randolph Williams and Harold Williams.
