Barbara Day (Reese) Hutchinson

A Graveside Funeral service for Barbara Reese Day Hutchinson, 85, of Aiken, SC will be held at One O’clock p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 in the Good Hope Lutheran Church Cemetery, 927 Spann Road, Ward, SC 29166 with the Reverend Judd Hook officiating. Mrs. Barbara passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

The family has asked the memorials be made to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Road, Aiken, SC 29801.

Born in Aiken County, SC she was a daughter of the late Ralph Kenly Reese and Leona Storey Reese and was married to the late Claude Harrell Hutchinson. Barbara retired as Area Manager at Pepperidge Farms.  She loved watching Tom Cruise and Elvis Presley Movies and watching the Braves play baseball. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.

Survivors include her sons, Butch (Adlyne) Day of Leesville, SC and Eddie (Frances) Day of Saluda, SC; 2 daughters, Michele Day Gunter of Aiken, SC and Treena (Keith) Fulmer of Aiken, SC; a step-daughter, Kristi (Kenneth) Batten of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Day, Travis Day, Jessica (Robert) Taylor, Buddy (Kristin) Day, Ashley (Thomas) Henry, Daniel (Christina) Gunter, Taylor (Troy) Watson and Kody Day; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Steele; a sister-in-law  Ola Mae Steele and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Claude, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Gunter; sisters, Mildred, Faye, Ruth, Melba, Ella Mae, Mary and Evelyn and brothers, Dick, Henry, Pete, Lester, Tony, Harvell, Gene, Edward and James and a sister-in- law, Margie Steele.
