Ami Towne

Ami Claudette Towne, mother of Chloe Towne, was called home to the Lord Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 at the age of 43.

Ami was born in Augusta, Georgia on June 7, 1980. She lived in both Hilda, SC and Barnwell, SC for the entirety of her life. She graduated from Barnwell High School in 1998 and continued her educational journey to pursue an associate’s degree from University of South Carolina - Salkehatchie the following year, which was completed in 2000. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Barnwell.

Ami was an avid reader and a devoted Carolina fan. She enjoyed reading novels by her favorite author, Nicholas Sparks, of which her favorite was “A Walk to Remember”. She sought after God-centered entertainment such as the Sherwood Pictures films including Facing the Giants, Courageous, and Fireproof. Ami was a fan of multiple sports, her two favorites being football and baseball.

She is survived by her daughter, Chloe Towne of Barnwell; mother, Claudette Towne of Barnwell; brother, Jamie Towne of Barnwell (Brittany); nephew, Wil Towne of Aiken (Honey); niece, Makayla Towne of Aiken (Bubba); uncle, James DuBois of Lake Park, Florida (Desca).

She was predeceased by her special aunt, Desca DuBois of Lake Park, Florida; maternal grandparents, Claude J. and Dora Duncan of Barnwell; her sister, Buffy Towne of Barnwell; her father, William Monroe Towne of Hilda; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Martha Towne of Hilda.

The family has requested that instead of sending flowers, make donations to Folk Funeral Home in the name of Ami, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at her home, 170 Duncan Ln., Barnwell, SC on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at eleven o’clock a.m.; family and friends are welcome to attend. The ceremony will be officiated by Pastor Bart Kelly.
