Allen May Obituary

Edward Allen May, 72, of Barnwell, SC passed away on October 1, 2024 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Born in Jesup, GA he was a son of the late James B. May and Gladys H. Morris.  Allen attended Wayne County Public Schools and was a plumber and later retired as a pipefitter from Savannah River Site. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Florida State fan.  He enjoyed playing softball and loved his children and grandchildren very much. 

Survivors include his daughters, Ashley May and Jennifer May both of Bradenton, FL; sons, Edward Allen May Jr. of Jesup, GA, and Joshua May of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Destiny May, Autumn Cruz, Matthew Cruz, Aliyah May, Ethan May, Ameilyah May and Jaymeson May; great grandchild, Alayah Jones; sisters, Gredal (Buster) Burkett of Surrency, GA; Shirley (Jim) Bargo of Ruskin, FL, Dorothy (Robert) Sampson of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Ron (Sharon) May of Barnwell, SC, and Richie (Megan) Peterson of Barnwell, SC along with a number of cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by a sister Janice, Futch and a nephew, Caleb Buzbee.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Trinity Hospice and Aiken Regional Medical Center for their love and kindness shown to Allen over the last few days.
