Shirley Jean (Sanders) Still

Funeral services for Shirley Jean Sanders Still, 79, of Olar, SC will be held at eleven a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Georges Creek Southern Baptist Church with the Reverend Ted Still officiating; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Monday, June 17^th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Shirley passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019.

Born in Barnwell County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Simon I. Sanders, Sr. and Martha Eloise Still Sanders. She was a member of Georges Creek Southern Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, served on several committees, and enjoyed singing special songs and playing the base guitar. She retired from Wal-Mart where she was the manager of the Sporting Goods Department and she previously worked at Ameritron, Milliken, Ducane and Burlington. Shirley loved to fish, sing, tend to her flowers and also loved to decorate and put up her Christmas lights.

Survivors include her husband, Virgel James Still of the home; daughters, Beth (Dennis) Collins of Elloree, Sharon (Mike) Fail of Olar; son, Kelly (Denise) Still of Olar; sisters, Bonetta Bolen of Blackville, Mary Ruth Love of Olar; brothers, Simon “Jack” Sanders, Jr., of Olar, Perry Hugh Sanders of Blackville, Ray Allen Sanders of Olar; grandchildren, James (Nancy) Zorn, Amy (Ellysisso) DeGilaido, Jeremy (Robin) Eaves, Brandy Nicole (Jason) Fail, Henry Allen (Brandi) Padgett, Jr., Shovone (Duffy) Bolen, Patrick Kelly (Sarah) Still, Nathan James Still; 20 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard O’Neal Sanders, Norman Everette Sanders, Wayne Sanders and a great granddaughter Caroline Still.
