Mack Edward Chavis

Funeral services for Mack Edward Chavis, 65, of Williston, SC will be held one o’clock p.m., Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with burial in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from four to six p.m., Sunday, January 27th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC and other times at the home of Betty Bivens, 115 Angel Lane, Windsor, SC. Mack passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

Born in Barnwell County, SC, he was a son of the late Roosevelt Chavis and Retha Mae New Chavis and was previously married to Betty Bivens. He was a member of the Church of God and was a hard-working, self-employed brick mason who enjoyed fishing whenever he had a chance.

Survivors include his sons Edward Franklin “Eddie” (Beca) Chavis, Jody Chavis all of Williston; loving friend Betty Bivens; sisters Patricia Hair, Jeannette Driggers, Shelby (Eric) Williams, Barbara (Tony) Carter, Cathy Davis; brothers Cecil (Lora) Chavis, O’Neal (Janet) Chavis, Earl Chavis; grandchildren Allen, Chance, Justin (Ashley) Chavis; great grandchildren Amie, Savannah, Justin Allen Chavis, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas and Leamon Chavis.
