Katie (Dort) Bolen

Funeral services for Kathryn Lee “Katie” Dort Bolen, 86, of Williston, SC will be held eleven a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend David O’Donnell officiating; burial will follow at the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williston Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853. Katie passed away Sunday June 23, 2019 at her home.

Born in Pawnee City, Nebraska she was a daughter of the late Charles Maynard Dort and Emma Badesheim Dort. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Katie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; her grandchildren affectionately called her Hugs.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years Myron M. Bolen of the home; daughters Denise (Jimmy) Elkins and Dana Bolen Byrd all of Williston; grandchildren Dane Byrd of Williston, Kathryn (Alex) Paavel of Papillion, Nebraska; sister-in-law Dee Wagner of Papillion, Nebraska; nieces and nephews Judy (Garry) McNew, Charlie (Julie) Dort, Janet Fennert and Steve (Judi) Dort all of Papillion, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Dirk Byrd; sisters Bessie D. Herrick, Ruth D. Price and a brother Elmer Dort.
