Jewell (Chavis) Hutson

Jewell Chavis Hutson of Blackville passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 20^th in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with Pastor Johnny New officiating; burial will be at the Blackville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19^th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Born in Neeses, she was the daughter of the late Sam & Evalena Chavis. She retired from the former Milliken plant in Barnwell where she worked as a weaver. She was a member of Pinehill Freewill Baptist Church in Blackville. Mrs. Hutson enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Survivors include a daughter, Marie (Bryant) Lawrimore of Blackville, a son, Walter Buff of Aiken, a daughter, Lisa (Randy) Bolen of Williston, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, her loving sister, Mamie Weaver of Orangeburg, whom she lived with for the past 10 years, a brother, Nazroe (Faye) Chavis of Orangeburg, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Sumter Hutson and a son, Elvis Still.
