Funeral services for Georgia Lou Gray Carroll, 78, of Blackville, SC will be held at two p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Double Pond Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas Terry and Reverend Tom Baker officiating; burial will be at the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family will receive friends from twelve-thirty p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be sent to Double Pond Baptist Church, c/o Gene Fickling, 1048 Vernon’s Vintage Rd., Blackville, SC 29817. Mrs. Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
Born in Bamberg County, she was the only child of the late George Henry Gray and Mary Black Gray and was married to the late Willie Robert Carroll for 49 years; her in-laws welcomed her into the Carroll family and they treated her as their own, and she loved them all dearly. She was a member of Double Pond Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary. Mrs. Georgia worked in the Blackville-Hilda Public Schools as a secretary and enjoyed working in her yard. She cherished her church family and devoted friends. Her grandchildren were her life and she adored every minute that she got to spend with them.
Survivors include her son, Robert Stoney Carroll of Blackville; daughters, Sindy (Randy) Martin of Aiken, Sherry (Ken) Kinard of Barnwell; grandchildren, Duey Martin, Lily Martin, Jacob Martin, Caleb Martin, Lance Kinard, Addison Carroll and Sugar, her fur-baby and loyal companion.
