Funeral services for Ellis Alexander McCoy, 72 of Barnwell, SC will be held two p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverend Fred Orr officiating; burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 6, 2018 from six to eight p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. McCoy passed away Tuesday December 4, 2018 at his home.
Born in Old Ellenton, Barnwell County he was a son of the late Ellis Ballard McCoy and Helen Roundtree McCoy. He worked for Commercial Metal Company as a mobile diesel mechanic, formerly worked for Robert O. Collins Construction Company. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, playing cards, was a former member of the FFA and attended Lower Three-Runs Baptist Church. He loved his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, they affectionately called him Big Daddy and Elmo.
Survivors include his loving wife Teena Driggers McCoy of the home; daughters Janet McCoy (Sammie) Mays of Barnwell, Anne Marie McCoy of Clemson, GiGi McCoy (Faron) Vermillion of Ware Shoals, Beth McCoy (Bill) Foster of Honea Path, Regina McCoy of Orangeburg; sons David Alexander (Angie) McCoy of Barnwell, Ellis Ballard (Joyce) McCoy II of Allendale, Ronnie (Sissy) Bragg of Williston; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brothers Tommy (Linda) McCoy, Robert Moody all of Barnwell; a number of nieces and nephews; his loving cat Forrest and dog Lola.
He was preceded in death by his sister Frances McCoy Dangerfield; brothers Grover and Bill McCoy.
