Dexter Greene

Funeral services for Henry Dexter “Moody” Greene, 66, of Williston, SC will be held eleven a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Floyd Dukes officiating; burial will be in the Joyce Branch Section of the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m. on Monday, August 12^th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. In memory of Dexter, the family has requested that memorials may be made to Folk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC. Dexter passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019.

Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of the late Henry Edward Greene and Gussie Mae Sturkie Greene Arban. He was a retired carpenter having worked at Bolen Buildings & Supply. He enjoyed gardening, shooting pool, Nascar and the Carolina Gamecocks. Dexter would catch you off guard with a witty comment or joke at the perfect moment. He was always so thoughtful, bringing extra vegetables or potato salad or something else he experimented on in the kitchen. He created masterpieces out of wood just like his father.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Weimorts “Cindy” Greene of the home; a daughter Susie (Chris) Kostner of Aiken, SC; a son Marc (Teri) Greene of Charlotte, NC; sisters Linda (Gean) Bridgmon of Beech Island, SC; Judy (Mike) Duncan of Kingwood, TX; brother Vernon (Wynne) Greene of Wildwood, FL; grandchildren Jessica Brock, Rachel (Cameron) Long, Samantha Brock, Chrystal Kostner, Andrew Cornelius, Matthew (London) Cornelius, Britteny Greene, Joshua Cornelius; great grandchildren Elijah Brock, Lucas Cornelius and the Future Blake Long; mother-in-law Shirley (Tom) Regel of Evans, GA,  best friend Sam “Greene” Moody; the whole Moody Family and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins..
