Connie (Babb) Nesmith

Funeral services for Connie Babb Nesmith, 62, of Marietta, GA will be held three o’clock p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend David Turner officiating; burial will be in the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Breast Cancer Foundation, Susan G. Komen, Dept. 41831, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX  75265. Connie passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Born in Portsmouth, VA, she was a daughter of the late Theo W. Babb and Anne Deans Babb of Barnwell, SC. Connie was a 1974 graduate of Barnwell High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Columbia College; she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, GA. She taught at Keheley Elementary and was formerly employed with White Oak Manor in Burlington, NC.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan Smith Nesmith of the home; daughter, Brittany (Nick) Jelaca of Marietta, GA; son, Todd (Teia) Nesmith of GA; brothers, Bruce (Cindy) Babb of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Jon R. (Ellen) Babb of Ballentine, SC, Mac A. (Deena) Babb of Tybee Island, GA; grandchildren, Addison Kate Jelaca, Colton Lee Jelaca, Braxton Jett Nesmith; nieces, Lisa (Jason) Hutto, Laura (Craig) Crosby, Courtney (Mitchell) Bodiford, Amanda (Ryan) Norris, Penny Bryant, Joye Merritt, Lori Merritt, Nola Merritt; nephews, Eric (Jess) Babb, Rayburn Poston, Rodney Poston, Jody Nesmith, Brian Nesmith, Baker Nesmith and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia “Cindy” Babb Edwards.
