Carolyn Louise (Dyches) Fenn

A Memorial Service for Carolyn Louise "BaBa" Dyches Fenn, 87, of Hilda, SC will be held twelve noon Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Hilda First Baptist Church with the Reverend Tony Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from eleven a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given to Hilda First Baptist Church, 145 Church Street, Barnwell, SC 29812. Mrs. Carolyn passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.

Born in Hilda, SC, she was a daughter of the late Taft Aiken Dyches and Eloise Delk Dyches Morris. She was a graduate of Blackville High School and Columbia Business College with a secretarial degree. She was a member of Hilda First Baptist Church where she had previously worked as an Acteens Leader. She worked at in-home child care and church daycare. She worked as a secretary for Barnwell County Agricultural Extension and the Ladd Air Force Base at the hospital in Alaska. Mrs. Carolyn was very spiritual; she loved talking and teaching others about Jesus. She studied the Bible extensively including teachings written by Wayne Dyer and Melody Beattie.

Survivors include her husband Jimmie Otis Fenn; a daughter Melba Sue Smith of Cayce; sons Hollis (Dorothy) Fenn, Richard Fenn, all of Barnwell, Thomas Fenn of South Congaree, John (Beth) Fenn of Hilda; sister June (Pat) Ray of Hilda; brothers Waymon (Virginia) Morris, B.A. (Hazel) Morris, Jr.; grandchildren Jimmie Collins, Brent Hall, Shelton Hall, Michael Fenn, Matthew Fenn, Daniel (Nichole) Fenn, Michelle Fenn, Martina (Ryan) Hewitt, Nicholas Fenn, Jessey Fenn; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great, great granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-father Berkly Ansel Morris, Sr.; a sister Lavinia Neal; brothers infant John Andrew Morris, Terrell Dyches; daughters-in-law Alice Fenn and Mary Ann Fenn.
