Carol Greene McDonald

A Celebration of Life Service for Carol Greene McDonald, 74, of Williston, SC will be held three o’clock p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Barnwell Church of Christ with the Reverend Marshall Swindall officiating. The family will receive friends from two o’clock p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Barnwell Church of Christ, 60 Bomway Street N., Barnwell, SC 29813 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Carol passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was a daughter of the late James William Greene and the late Mary Lee Redd Greene. She was a faithful member of Barnwell Church of Christ and taught Sunday School to many children through the decades. She taught Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, was a master seamstress, a tailor and a craft extraordinaire.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Minister Charles W. “Chuck” McDonald of the home; her daughters Monica (Michael) Morehead of Townville, SC; Teresa (Charles) Luellen of Waverly, TN; a son Michael (Patricia) McDonald of Williston; sisters Janice (Robert Timothy) Hockersmith of Green Cove Springs, FL; brother John M. (Juanita) Greene, III of Texarkana, AK; grandchildren Victoria, Nathan Isaac and Alexis Morehead, Justin Hoard, Ashley (Andrew) Shaw and Charleigh Luellen; step-grandchildren Andrew and John Leroy; six great grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Maxine (Steve) Vaden; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harold (Delores) McDonald and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son James Thomas McDonald and a brother-in-law Jimmie Lee Greene.
